For the first time ever, I am offering studio mini’s and am SO EXCITED about it!! Please keep reading because these sessions are something you do NOT want to miss out on!!

In addition to the packages you see above, there will also be special a la carte pricing along with some special items only available for purchase with mini sessions. The Valentine’s Day cards included with the packages are all sized 2.5″x3.5″ and include envelopes. They are perfectly sized for giving to classmates! She’s original Blistex. I’m original Chapstick. She’s York Peppermint Patties and I’m Andes Mints. She’s Jelly Belly jelly beans and I’m chocolate…anything chocolate. She is fashionable clothes and I’m…well, I’m t-shirts and yoga pants. She is Dawn McCarthy, one of my very good friends and the speaker at this month’s Triad SmugMug Meetup. At the Triad SmugMug Meetups, we get together and listen to speakers talk to us about various topics. The meetings are sponsored by SmugMug and happen once a month. If you don’t live in Greensboro, NC then go to their website and see if there is a meeting near you! This month was the official launch of our group and Dawn came in to speak to us about “Investing in Our Clients”.

Isn’t she just as cute as she can be? She was incredibly entertaining and held the attention of everyone in the room.

We laughed, many times, at the various anecdotes that she shared with us and listened intently as she gave some very sound advice on dealing with clients.

We gave away prizes from our generous sponsors, too. Bay Photo, the most rockin’ lab on the planet, donated four $50 gift certificates!! I love Bay Photo, their quality is unbeatable! Andrea Halsey, another local photographer whom I feel quite happy to be able to call “friend”, donated her app for photographers called “iProofPro” for the iPad. It’s available on Apple iTunes and you can see it by clicking right here. And last but certainly not least was the big daddy prize donated by SmugMug, one year of SmugMug Pro for free!! And here is a picture of Harold, the very lucky winner of that prize!

All in all, it really was an amazing evening. Our group is full of some wonderful people and I can’t wait to get to know them all better. I was really thrilled by the turnout and hope that the next meetup is just as well received. In October we’re going to be joined by a local marketing guru, Jeff SanGeorge, the owner of Connect Marketing and Design. I will be announcing the date soon, so please stay tuned for that!

Recently I decided one day was just not enough for Greensboro folks to take advantage of the awesome offer I have running right now. You know the one. Special mini-session to be held at the studio, a disc with 5-8 images and matching 5×7′s, AND a super cool, totally cute, and functional lunchbox with your favorite image from the session on it. 2 images to be exact! Well, I was running that only on August 1st, but have decided to run it through the ENTIRE month of August!! Today I feel like a kid on her birthday! I have some exciting news to share and I cannot wait to share it with YOU!! I have been searching for something really cool and fun to offer you and, while there are a multitude of things out there, there wasn’t anything that struck me as unique enough. Until now. Babies are amazing. I have seen many in this line of work and I never cease to be amazed by how different and individual they all are. Some are sleepy and snuggly. Some are strong as an ox and ready to walk right when they enter the world. And then some are just wise-looking and laid back like this little guy right here:

How can an infant seem to hold the answer to all the deep questions in the world in his eyes? I don’t know, but this little guy right here struck me that way during our session. He was also WIDE awake, so interested in being a part of the world around him that he just didn’t sleep! Did I mention he has a totally precious older brother? Check him out, already telling him secrets and giving him lots of love and affection!

Just so cute, I could barely stand it!! Oh yeah, and his mommy is pretty special herself. It’s just not fair for someone to look this lovely 5 days out from giving birth. I think I still had quite a bit of redness in my cheeks then!

I really love that last image. The way she is looking at her beautiful new baby boy really captured my heart! (sigh) Babies are AMAZING!! And I don’t know what’s going on but Greensboro has had an explosion of boy babies this year! I feel honored to have been chosen as the photographer for them , too!

It’s Almost Time! | Greensboro Photographer

Just a couple of days from now, during the Downtown Greensboro event, First Friday, Evie Curley Photography’s studio will officially open! Friday evening, from 6-9pm, our doors will open and you can come in and have a look around. In addition to my work being on display, you will also have an opportunity to meet another photographer and view her work. Her name is Marcy Roan and she is going to display some of her landscapes and they will be available for sale. Her work will also be on display in the Raleigh-Durham area this summer but you will get the first look at it! Marcy is a really amazing person and I encourage you to come out and meet her and take a look at her work. Also, please be sure to bring your kids! I’m going to have a Wall of Art set up for them to walk up to and draw on to their heart’s content. Hopefully, we will get enough participation that I can display it in the window all next week!! There will be cookies and lemonade for everyone to enjoy, too.

Also, everyone that comes in and signs the guest book will be entered into my system and when they hold a session with me in 2010, they will receive a complimentary mounted 16×20 wall print. So please be sure to sign the guest book when you come by!! The weather is going to be absolutely fantastic and it will be a great night for walking around downtown and seeing what the other First Friday participants are showcasing as well. More exciting things on the horizon | Greensboro Family and Children’s Photographer

You know, I can’t keep a secret. Not very well anyway and for the last couple of weeks I’ve been bursting at the seams to share some pretty big news with you. One of my goals when I first started this business was to someday have my own studio space. Now, that goal is a reality!! Well, almost! At the beginning of February, my husband and I were celebrating our 12th anniversary by spending the day together, walking around downtown when he noticed a “For Lease” sign in a storefront window. He called and we were able to see the space the next day. Despite the currently garish colors painted on by the previous tenants, we decided to go ahead and take the leap into Studio-dom. It’s so exciting!!!

See, many photographers are able to shoot in their homes. For me that never seemed like a good option for many reasons so this space is going to open up new worlds for me and YOU!!! I am still working on all the details but, I will offer a lower session fee to those who choose to have a newborn, baby, or toddler shoot at the studio. Also, I’m designing some really cool studio sessions that I know you are going to lose your minds over!! Mini sessions will be held there as will professional headshots.

The studio is right downtown, near some really fantastic restaurants so you can have a photo shoot and then pop over to M’Couls or Natty Greene’s for a bite to eat. Or maybe coffee and cheesecake are more your speed? In that case, you can stop into Cheesecakes by Alex and the Green Bean for a delicious treat on your way home from your shoot. In any case you cannot go wrong! I’m excited to be a part of the downtown scene, especially with the new Civil Rights Museum that just opened up, too. There are so many exciting things happening!
