Sweetness!!!

I have been itching to post pics of this sweet, sweet little baby!! She was such a precious newborn and her mom and dad couldn’t be more proud to be her parents. You can tell by the care they took in designing her room that they were excited about this little girl well before her arrival into the world. You will be seeing more of this little darling as we photograph her throughout her first year. I cannot wait to watch her metamorphosis from a teeny baby to a toddler!! For whatever reason, whenever the new year rolls around I get to thinking about photographing newborns. It is cliche I suppose but, it must somehow be tied in to the year being a fresh start, just like a new life is a fresh start. Anyway, before I wax poetic in this post….I have already been fortunate enough to meet one new little man and it inspired me to come up with something to offer other expectant families! From now until the end of February 2011, I am offering newborn sessions at half price. Regularly $200, you will save a significant amount!! Your session does NOT have to take place in February, for instance, if your baby is due in July, you can still take advantage of this by purchasing the session now. New for the studio in 2011, I am offering a baby plan. It includes 3 sessions which culminate in the family receiving a beautifully framed 10×20 print with one image from each session on it. In addition, the Baby Plan includes a set of 25 custom announcements to send out to the world to let them know about your beautiful addition. The cost for the baby plan is $500 which offers a $100 savings just on the sessions alone, not to mention the custom framed print and the announcements that are included. Can you believe 2010 is drawing to a close? Remember when we were children and the days seem to pass like years? Now they seem to pass like seconds!! I hope that 2010 was as wonderful a year for you and your family as it was for me. This year, my business grew by leaps and bounds and I was blessed to meet so many new friends and clients! Thank you very much for bringing me into your lives this year and I hope that next year will bring us together again. Babies are amazing. I have seen many in this line of work and I never cease to be amazed by how different and individual they all are. Some are sleepy and snuggly. Some are strong as an ox and ready to walk right when they enter the world. And then some are just wise-looking and laid back like this little guy right here:

How can an infant seem to hold the answer to all the deep questions in the world in his eyes? I don’t know, but this little guy right here struck me that way during our session. He was also WIDE awake, so interested in being a part of the world around him that he just didn’t sleep! Did I mention he has a totally precious older brother? Check him out, already telling him secrets and giving him lots of love and affection!

Just so cute, I could barely stand it!! Oh yeah, and his mommy is pretty special herself. It’s just not fair for someone to look this lovely 5 days out from giving birth. I think I still had quite a bit of redness in my cheeks then!

I really love that last image. The way she is looking at her beautiful new baby boy really captured my heart! (sigh) Babies are AMAZING!! And I don’t know what’s going on but Greensboro has had an explosion of boy babies this year! I feel honored to have been chosen as the photographer for them , too!

I have been a very bad blogger for not sharing these pictures of this handsome little chunk of a baby with you. He was born back in March and his parents were kind enough to let me come in and hang out with all of them for a little while. Let me tell you, even at two weeks old, this little man was S-T-R-O-N-G! He was extraordinarily steady while holding his head up, he was so alert, maintaining some serious eye contact with me, and he was sturdy! And did I mention that he’s handsome, too? Just take a look at a few of these and tell me what you think!

And at just under two weeks old he was already an old pro at sucking his thumb. Totally. Adorable. It’s moments like these when I REALLY love what I do!

If it does, please don’t tell me because seriously I don’t think my heart could take it. I had a session this morning with the sweetest little boy you’ve ever seen. Had I known what was in store for me at this shoot today, I would have better prepared myself! It made me feel just a twinge of sadness that these days of cooing infants and little fingers curled around mine are far behind me. But in the same moment it hit me what a blessing it is to be able to spend time with little ones like this and capture these precious, fleeting moments for their families.

In addition to being just a bundle of cuteness and light on his own, he has such a nice, cool mom and an awesome dog named, Grace who loves him very, very much. Grace is a gorgeous Weimaraner with a huge heart and she just loves him to pieces!! She was watchful and kept her eye on me at all times. I could tell they are going to be such good friends and have fun together!

Without further adieu, here is the little man from my session this morning. Isn’t he just adorable? He was actually cooing at me when I took this shot. He was PRECIOUS!!!

Oh. My. Goodness. I had the distinct pleasure of shooting one of the most precious newborns yesterday! Meet little Miss “M”, the newest addition to a now family of six!!!

Isn’t she beautiful?? Can you believe all that hair? Here are a couple of other sneak peeks for Mom and Dad:

Big, big thank you to Miss “M”s parents for allowing me to capture these images. I had so much fun doing it, and I haven’t even talked about all the other fun we had while I was there!! She was so cooperative and sweet. Not to mention her very, very friendly brothers and sister. What a tremendously nice family! I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
