I’m sorry for the delay in the announcement of the winner of the $1000 photography giveaway but I was trying to speak to the winner beforehand to be sure they didn’t mind their details being shared with the internet world first. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get a hold of them! Becky and Jason Miller were nominated by Becky Holloway though and she wrote a very compelling letter about why they should be chosen to receive the gift of $1000 in photography and in the end, I agreed. The winner is going to receive a free photo session and all the session images on CD, which is really worth more than $1000!! They are a family who has endured a lot of trials and tribulations and they are still managing to hold things together. Because Becky’s nomination was the one that was chosen as the winner, she will receive a $250 print credit that can be applied to prints and other items with a paid photo session. Congratulations to the Millers and congratulations to Becky and thank you for participating!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season thus far. We are gearing up for New Year’s Eve around here. The boys have asked me if we could have a “Party” and I said yes. Really, it will just be the boys and me and Sean but that’s party enough for me! I’m wondering if anyone has any big New Year’s plans this year? Do you have a tradition that you observe every year? Please share!
For all of the last 10 years (except I think maybe one), we’ve celebrated by having friends over to enjoy a fire outside, some food and drink, good company, often fireworks. The first time we did that was the eve of Y2K, so this will be the 10th anniversary (incredible!)!

For New Years Eve we will have a big game/karaoke night. It will be our first… One year 4 years ago I spent it in the hospital trying to have Kai be the first new years baby…needless to say I got sent home and had him on the 2nd. lol

As far as NYE traditions, it is Brian’s birthday…so we do a dual celebration!
