What Are You Thankful For? | Evie Curley, Greensboro, NC Children and Family Photographer

This time of year is my absolute favorite. The changing of the leaves, the transition from summer temps to the gentle temps of Fall, and the knowledge that very soon the holidays will be here and everyone is a little bit nicer to one another during that time. You know, here in the South it takes a little bit longer for the temps to change and for Fall to set in. Usually we have pretty warm days all through November! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day and we’ll be heading to my sister’s house to enjoy the feast that she is so generously preparing for our whole family this year. She always puts out quite the Thanksgiving spread and we look forward to going there and stuffing ourselves as much as the turkey. :) This year, I have been particularly mindful of the fact that I have a lot to be thankful for. My husband has a good job, my children are healthy, we live in a comfortable (albeit not fancy!) home, and we have lots of family and friends nearby. I have felt really blessed this year to have met so many wonderful people through my business and through my online associations with other photographers. It has, in spite of the trying times experienced by our nation, still been a good year in many ways. My family doesn’t get to do the things like we used to because we feel the pinch just as anyone else does. That hasn’t affected our spirits though and our determination to enjoy the things we do have and to say thanks for that.

Thank you to my friends for making this such a bountiful year. I feel as though I have so many good friends to turn to when things get hard and in that way I am wealthy beyond all imagination. Thank you to my clients for allowing me to capture your memories for you and I hope that you will entrust that to me again next year.

So tomorrow, when I’m sitting at the table enjoying a heaping serving of this delicious Southern delicacy known as Cornbread Dressing:

I hope you are enjoying something equally delicious as well as enjoying it with family and friends. :)

I hope that everyone has a safe, happy, delicious, Thanksgiving!
