Whirlwind Weekend! | Evie Curley, Greensboro Children and Family Photographer

Whew. I am B-E-A-T!!!! This past weekend, we took a little jaunt up to Pennsylvania to visit my husband’s brother and family. We had a great time, as we do every year, and the time goes by way too fast. We drove back today and after 8 hours of being in the car with two kids jacked up on Twinkies and Cheetos, I’m ready for a bit of a nap.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of traveling to PA, you really should make it one of the places on your “must see” list. It’s truly beautiful, verdant, and has incredible landscapes. The rolling hills and wide vistas will absolutely take your breath away! Of course, I don’t have any photos of that. LOL I know, I know. Bad. Very BAD! I did get some great photos of the kids while we were there and here is one I can share with you today. It was actually taken at a place called, “Foamhenge” in Natural Bridge, VA. You can read more about it HERE. The artist went to great lengths to be sure that his Styrofoam model was an exact replica of its British cousin, Stonehenge. Aside from the biting flies that were swarming us once we reached the top, it was a pretty cool experience. Especially since I’m not sure I will ever see the real thing. So here it is for you in all its Styrofoam glory…Foamhenge!!!

How cool :) Down in the Hill Country, there’s a mini replica (Stonehenge II) I figure will be the next best thing (and its not fenced off like the original)!

WOW, you can get up so much closer to the replica then you can to the original. My memory of the original was that you were way across the road to view it.

Sounds (& looks) like a fun trip!! :)

I wish we could have stayed a little bit longer at Foamhenge. It was a great opportunity to tell the boys about Stonehenge and human history so I was sad that we couldn’t hang out and explore everything!
